St. Edward School -
Imus Campus, IT
This work immersion site is mainly concerned with the Imus campus but with the lack of IT personnel, there are chances of visiting the Faith Campus for repairs or concerns. Supervisors: Sir Michael Gumapos & Sir Elmark Ricafrente. Main tasks include setting up computers, updating, printing out new IDs, checking CCTV footage, and handling technical gear for events in the gym.

Great morning everyone! Hi I am Eanne Claire Almero and I was assigned to St. Edward School - Imus Campus in the IT department. Something about me is that it was only this school year I decided on taking IT for college and through my work immersion, not only did it give me an experience in the work setup but also a glimpse of what it would be like in college. Working with professionals, I got to work on a lot of my areas to improve specifically my communication and technical skills. We had hands-on tasks and often helped school faculty and students where I was able to apply the knowledge and skills from school, outside of the classrooms. A struggle I would consider would be because I only knew a bit in terms of technology, I struggled the most with identifying parts of the computer and how to reboot and so I started doubting myself if this field was really for me but with the help of my supervisors, Sir Michael Gumapos and Sir Elmark Ricafrente, I overcame this by asking them and by doing repetitive tasks, I was able to get the hang of it and understand the principles.
We helped in setting up the computers in the computer lab, printed out IDs, set up new PCs, and also helped the tech setup for events like this. It allowed me to see the importance of IT personnel to ensure smooth operations, provide technical support and enhance integration of technology into educational practices especially as technology advances. Overall, my work immersion experience helped me develop an interest and confidence in taking up IT and it made me realize that we have to embrace the journey of going outside of our comfort zones where endless possibilities await, fueled by the relentless pursuit of learning. With that, I’d like to thank the Work Immersion team and to both of my supervisors who helped me all throughout and I can say that I am not only work-ready but also college-ready. Thank you!

Road to BSIT ?!
This work immersion program really helped me grow an interest and overall confidence and excitement for what's to come in college. It's a new adventure and I am excited to see what lies ahead of me.
